2022 wrapped
Hey there!
Hope you’re having a good time with friends and family this holiday season. Writing to you once or twice a month has been enjoyable. I mostly write to share my views/learnings every now and then. Today, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what 2022 looked like to us and share what we’re thinking as we head towards 2023.
2022 was…
2022 was a year of heatwaves and floods. Heatwaves in our neighbouring country Pakistan (fyi we’re in India) led to melting of glaciers, and later floods, affecting at least 15-20% of the country’s population. Thousands of people died, and tens of thousands were injured. Severe floods were also witnessed in the US due to Hurricane Ian. On the other hand, Europe experienced deadly heat waves and the worst drought in it’s recent history.
Water is the giver of life. However, too much of it(floods) or too little of it(droughts) is naturally…a disaster.
These events have cemented our intent to build CTRL + Z. While we’re a for-profit company, we want to leverage technology for environmental impact. The name CTRL + Z itself stands for undo-ing the damage done, and doing better this time. We are ready to roll out our first water filtration technology for immersive testing early next year. Last but not the least, we are immensely grateful for the support we received from the 776 Foundation led by Alexis Ohanian and Lissie Garvin.
All in all, things have gone well for us. We were able to overcome the technical challenges, work on exciting projects and build a strong foundation for ourselves.
Thanks for being a part of our journey and hope you will continue supporting us!
